I picked this up off craigslist today. It is a Schwinn Cruiser. I think it is from the late 80's or early 90's. The first thing i did was take off the Hideous decals. The guy i bought it from added the higher bars and the saddlebags in the back. It has a spinger on the front with brake posts for a front brake. He also added a headlight and a hood ornament from what I am guessing a 50's Buick. Anybody recognize the hood ornament? The seat is ugly, but comfortable. it needs a little cleaning up, but overall it is in good shape. Anybody have a schwinn serial code chart that goes this high - LN900240?

dont know bout the serial #, if the dates "flip" that would make it a 96/97 i think ?? :|

good lookin bike either way tho

You tell me... the guy I bought it from said it was from an olds, but I haven't been able to find any pictures to confirm it.
 
I'm almost positive that is what it is. I have had a couple of Olds with ornaments like that. with the Olds 455, and 350 rocket power plants uner the hood. I have been looking all over for pics and cannot come up with a one! Anyway, that is a cool idea to put that on the fender like that, on a really cool bike! Very nice!
 
That hood ornament is off a 1953 or 1954 FORD! Believe it or not? The Oldsmobiles had much bigger aircraft style hood ornaments. Dangerous Dan
