My inspiration came from the Hoodride scene in the Volkswagen world and a J.C. Higgins pistol grip fishing rod. Put the two together and you get the Riverside Hoodride. The front end has been lowered and stretched, if its on there its functional and 99% of the rust is real.

Thanks! Everything down to the last nut (mostly square ones) on this bike is is "period correct", with the glaring exception of the tires.

Aced it :rockout:

What a gorgeous hunk of rolling rust ....
I'm glad we have a week to vote, cuz I missed a bunch of great build threads along the way....
Now I can go look at how you did Riverside Hoodride
Love it........super job

Thanks for the compliments guys. So far everyone who has seen it in person either asks "what year is it?' or "where did you find it?" or both. As far as I am concerned I win every time they ask. If I can fool someone into thinking this bike came this way or that someone built it 60 years ago and left it leaning against a shed since, then I have exceeded my own expectations. With so many great bikes this year, I'm flattered that anyone is even noticing mine.

Pretty humble statement considering this is a Bike with more ratty details than any other bike IMO. It defines the term sir....

A few more pictures cause... why not? For those who might be curious about the front flap, I let room to ride over a valve cap but when the springer springs, its a scraper and I like it that way! Also the other pics didnt really show the super cool scale hanging behind the seat.
