Got this frame in a deal with some 26 inch stuff. Originally had no plans to use it but I need to start doing more work as part of surgery rehab. How it currently sits.

the rear dropouts were butchered by someone. But it appears to be mid 60s murray

the nicest original paint is the front fork

This may end up meeting the 2/3 rule but I don't want too limit myself since I'm not sure how the first plan will turn out.

Great frame to start ! Bike building therapy always helps me; no matter if it's physical or mental.

RaT oN~!

Are those Hello Kitty tires?

That racing bar looks good on it

No need to do that in this class brother!

Carl.

That's kinda similar to my very first bike build when I was ~5/6. In my case a 20" schwinn cantilever with drop bars (flipped) and mattress seat off of a derelict road bike :21:.
I seen it somewere in my neighborhood as a poor kid and thought it looked neat but these were thrown on it before just too wheel it around at one point. Highly doubtful they stay involved at this point .

progress. Or just torn apart I'm not sure yet. This thing has a really long headtube compared to what I'm used too. So far it may have ruled out the original plan because I lack a long enough modern 20 inch fork. Think I might even paint this one.

so this was the other bike from the truckload I wanted. The sissy bar and seat went too a friend but a few parts will end up on this build. Still have to decide if I want too paint it or not.

So I've wanted to do another set of these terrible homebrewed chopper forks even though my boss happily pointed out that I should fabricate something much better since my skills aren't those of a 12 year old anymore. Since I'm still officially off work and not currently covered by shop insurance I left them for him too weld. Should pick them up tomorrow for the grinding and cleaning portion of the event.

hoping my twins find these as hilarious to ride as younger me did. That's a beater 26 inch wheel I used to check for level and hub spacing for perspective

a quick coat of filler primer reminded me of just how much I need to sand, or take my wire wheel back from my friend. It's also a great reminder or why i usually don't bother with paint.

so I got some sanding done. Looks like the bike was originally red and not the blue I thought it was. Took one of the possible handlebar options from a girl's bike and scuffed them up too get rid of the purple. Final bars and color still undecided but everything has a coat of primer. My boss is a little behind at work so I'm still waiting on fork option one to be finished. Ohh and years of documenting project cars makes me really like pictures if you can't tell

I'm kind of torn between this color
IMG_20191010_192534340.jpg
and bright green for a color.

Well ran the ideas past my kids and apparently they don't like either

If your design ideas ever meet the approval of your kids, let me know. My sons are 30 and 27, and I'm still waiting....:21:

I think if you want to stand out in the muscle bike crowd, those BMX bars are the way to go. Everyone is doing apes. My lady's muscle mixte came stock with that style, and it looks surprisingly good.

The handlebar used will depend on the fork used. I'm debating entering a second bike just so I can build one both styles
