Re: Rare Bird- '37 BSA Tandem

The front has an ecliptic mount to allow to tightening of the front chain. The badge is actually a decal, same as was originally used. I ordered doubles of all the decals because I knew I would be doing it over eventually.

Re: Rare Bird- '37 BSA Tandem

Back in town after the family business has been dealt with. I will continue where I left off last Friday tomorrow. One lesson I had forgotten before I began and the bike was kind enough to remind me of- When using a wire brush on the grinder to remove 75 year old paint wear a frickin' dust mask, dummy! I suffered for two days, coughing hacking, and now getting all of the air my lungs were wanting.

Re: Rare Bird- '37 BSA Tandem

Frame to bare metal. Might go another direction.

That frame looks solid! Plus I love your truck in the driveway... always wanted a slammed C10.

Great decals, where'd you source them from?

Domiracer.com They are a vintage British motorcycle site. I found pics of a '36 "lady back" BSA tandem that had the original decals on a British bicycle museum website. I have several reference pics in the build thread from my last build up. viewtopic.php?f=21&t=39168&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=bsa

Re: Rare Bird- '37 BSA Tandem

Neat looking piece of hardware, should be a keeper.

Re: Rare Bird- '37 BSA Tandem

Today's progress

Laying down the keel tube decal, actually 4 separate decals

Re: Rare Bird- '37 BSA Tandem-Bare Steel and Chrome

I like the bare steel headlight, but until it's on the bike, hard to tell.

Re: Rare Bird- '37 BSA Tandem-Bare Steel and Chrome

Bare metal and chrome looks good!

We need a drooling smiley

Re: Rare Bird- '37 BSA Tandem-Bare Steel and Chrome

Really digging the bare metal tandem with the decals.

Build on brother, I think you may have the only 'bicycle built for two' in the BO this year.

Cheers,
Dr. T

Re: Rare Bird- '37 BSA Tandem-Bare Steel and Chrome

Your photo hosting site won't show at work and I finally remembered to have a look from home.

I use my Udall Custom Bikes Facebook page to host my pics. My work blocks Facebook as well.

Thanks for all the positive words.

I started my assembly today. I was too busy working to take pics, but here are some terrible mock up pics.
