I have had a lot of collectors ask if I have plans for building the rack I use.
No written plans but, it's fairly simple to make.
This is a modified 7 bike PVC rack that I found in cyberspace.

Made from 1.25" (OD) PVC pipe and connectors.
I was gonna try to sell these as a kit, then as just plans...but, it was never my original concept.
So why not pay it forward.

So here is what I used.
1.25" (outside diameter) pvc.
There are 13 slots.
That's 13 "T's" x 3 + 2 = 41.. 1.25" T's
6 elbows
13 lengths of pvc in 8", 13" and 9".

9"

Also 39 cut pcs of pipe at 1.5" long to join each T.

So it was brought to my attention that my math is wrong .
Supposed to be 50 Ts and 14 lengths of the various straight pipes.

It's a good going the completed rack image was posted.

It's a VERY cool rack!

I think everybody's math has been wrong so far, starting with the number of slots -- I count 15, not 13.

That means that it needs 16 lengths of each of the three longer pipes, and 16 fittings along each horizontal "row," and 15 very short pipes along each row.

(And apologies for "vandalizing" your picture with my graffiti. ;) )

nice and simple
i wonder how much it would cost doing this with plumbing pipes:39:
could also be welded to be against thefts

No apologies neded. Either way,
you guys can do the math.
I have no problem with how it gets put together.

The math is truly harder than it appears, but the results are clearly worth it. It's a great design.

Since it looks like you can only squeeze 6-7 bikes within the truck bed, I'd probably forego about half of the T's and use more straight pipe to space the remaining slots further apart--same usability, less money.
