Probably final update on the cart project. Son and daughter-in-law came today and picked it up. She was thrilled with it!

I think I have the front fork just about done. Debating on whether to turn the upper two tees 90° so the acorns are pointing up not out.
I hate to paint so early in the build process, but I may have to do it soon before I run out of warm sunny days. NC weather seems to be getting colder in the winter. Or maybe after moving here from Ohio almost 20 years ago I'm just losing my cold tolerance! LOL

Cool work on the fork! I vote for the 'up' position on the acorns as well.

Really upped the ante on this build, Andy!

One last post about the cart. I promise!

This my daughter-in-law's big weekend with the new cart. It's full of the little pottery critters she's making now. Mugs and such will come later.

One cool cart! I always wanted to build something simmilar for my postapocalyptic conventions. Something in the shape of this:

But then I joined the biggest faction of postapocalyptic traders, where everywhere we just open a regular shop, so the cart idea is now obsolete :21:

Sorry for the offtopic:wink1:

Stickers gone now. Carl, thanks for the tip on using a heat gun.
Top of the truss changed around now too. Real life issues settled down now so hopefully I can get more done on this bike now.

Yeah, man! The bolts look way better up there! Now you gotta get some paint on those "lowers"! Can't wait to see how it turns out

Hmmmm.... Tried my hand at tinsmithing (aluminum smithing?) tonight after work. As I have said before, I don't have much in the way of metal working equipment. LOL
Looks like something I would have made my first year of metal shop.

A few more rivets to take up the gaps and some work with a hammer and it looks a little less "primitive." LOL
Probably leave it set until the chain is in place so I can see if it needs any more tweakage.

I like the fender! What gauge / thickness is that diamondplate?

You cleaned up the gaps nicely too. Metal Shop 101. I'd give you an A for creativity, and a B for execution. Great work for the first time around!

Not sure what gauge it is. It's nothing like what they make truck tool boxes out of. LOL

That fender is pretty .... cool, I have access to about any sheet metal tool I want at work but lack the patience, it’s the reason I’m a mechanic and not a body guy.

Maybe add an electric motor and use the sissy bar like a trolley pole?
