Hey, how 'bout one of you Photoshop geniuses stick a beard on that guy for me.

I know I'm new to this site, but I grew up in klunkerville, USA. Bought my first Klunker, well actually traded in a chunk rat at the LBS, gave the guy 10 bucks on top, which was a heck of a lot of money back then, and rode out on my first and last used klunker. This was in Marin County where the guys that pretty much started it were two grades above me. I went to redwood high as well as a few others, some went to Kent or Tam, but there was a pretty good crowd doing the same thing. These were the days that the freshmen didn't hang with the seniors, but I ripped down MT Tam many a time on my klunk with the rear brake smokin by the time I was about 3\4's the way down. Them was some fun days, standing at the 2 am club hitch hiking, waiting for someone with a truck to drive us up the mountain so we could ride down. No way in heck we were riding up. Good times!

This is a bike I put together a couple of years ago. I still need to change a few things, like the front brakes - too modern. But it rides nice, and is a lot of fun. Sorry for the lousy pics. I will get some better ones and post them up.

Frame is a Dyno from the 90's, has a Nexus 4 hub, Felt bars and tires.

I wouldn't touch it, that thing is sweet!

Maybe we need to get up with Felt and Transition and see if they will sponsor our Klunker build-off, maybe a nice 1976 Dirt Club bike for the winner?

Klunkin' ain't easy!

LOLOLOL, crappy bikes + costumes = good times. I crashed 5 times... :x , Ninja Turtle suit came in handy. Gotta slow it down to speed it up, I guess.

The helmet and goggles really get the point across

Dude had to be taking a beating averaging 20 mph off road !!!I know the downhill part has a lot to do with it but that is flying. Were the other times as close ?

I want to say Tony and Vaughn were like 12:10, 12:25? Both those guys have won previous races. So pretty close for such a long track. It is half logging road, half single track.

This is my strava time.... which is not too accurate, I turned my phone on 30 secs before official start time, and off after I could stop and dig it out of my pocket. I think I got 13:55... with a lot of crashing. Anyways, Strava says top speed 35.8 mph. The "performance" tab, gives you an idea of average speeds on the track.... you can see between 4:00 - 8:00 I was on the ground a lot. :p
