I finally got the wheel hoops painted and re-spoked tonight. The original tires were very hard but I re-used them also. ☺

I am considering selling this if I can get the money put together in the next couple days but not really want to ship it! ☺

Somebody mentioned parting this out because they said the basket just sold for $800 on ebay. I would hate to, but if I do I will post this in the For Sale section.

Sorry to threadjack, but is that the Western Flyer version of the Murray Firekat family in the background?

I will answer for Ron...lol Yes it is a Western Flyer RamRod. It is in the same family as the Firecat & KingKat. The differences being the forks & seats, sissybars.

Thanks Jaxon.
I've been looking for the Coast-to-Coast Hardware stores version of this bike, as I knew Murray made versions of the 'Kats for smaller hardware store chains, but haven't had any luck.

nice bike but i would check the serial number again. i think its older than 51
these show up on the catalog pages on 1946

and they dont show up again until 1955 as you can see the frame is diferent

now they did build the cycle truck on 1951

but what makes me think its older is the skiptooth

on 1951 there are some serial numbers that start with A but they are A plus 5 digits. it looks like yours (A3824**) fit on NOV. 19, 1951 which are from A37988 TO A40206 but you will have to check the number on the frame again since it should have a CT also.

it looks like that on the day they built them it was the only thing they built on 1951 for example

2/23/51 H166581CT TO H166853CT
3/2/51 H166854CT TO H167354CT
7/24/51 H272629CT TO H273272CT

those 3 days where the only days they built cycle trucks on 1951 according to my book, but i could be wrong if the book is wrong!
