Kickstands , seat padding & hand grips , all just slow you down
I'm so with ya Dogdart

One more for now of today's ride, Lake of the Isles dock
As soon as I positioned the bike, Up walks 2 Dads and their 3 young kids to go fishing
So I try to get off the dock and up steps 2 more people with canoes to launch

Re: Jacked Up Pilot, Ride 4, DQ w/FIL

I didn’t want to miss my ~ weekly Dairy Queen ride with my 70 year old Father In Law (FIL)
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=54249&start=0
So 30 minutes after my 20 miler and a quick knee icing, I was off

Got him some new shades so he looks cool and sees better 8)
Had to get this one shot, Asked if he liked it and would want to ride it
He knocks on the seat pan and says “That could hurt your back side”
I said, ‘well it is sprung like your Harley was” Knocks again, “Still pretty hard”

So we took off for DQ and he was flying, I had to upshift to keep up with him  :D
Told him he was riding pretty fast, he said how fast, I said about 15 mph, he said “Oh” :(

He had Strawberry Sundae and I had a PB cup mini blizzard, it hit the spot!

We took off and stopped at the park on the way home. We sat and talk for a while, absorbing the nice day :D
You guys have seen some of the Mississippi River pictures...
Well my FIL said he swam across it when he was young, I said we all do crazy things when young and stupid
Tried to confirm with my wife but she was a bit doubtful, I'm not sure, he was a wild man...

He told me about scuba diving in Hawaii (confirmed )
I guess he went during his 25 year wedding anniversary trip, that make him about my age

Headed home and talked about the grass and how nice the day was
His dog was checking out my new bike

We both had a good day
Thanks for looking

Re: Jacked Up Pilot, Ride 4, DQ w/FIL

The bike turned out super cool! Love your pictures all around Minneapolis. My parents live out there and we came out to visit a couple weeks ago. Me and my wife had to bring our bikes after seeing all the cool places to ride in your photos. We got to ride some of the spots you've taken photos at. We rode around Lake Calhoun and Lake of Isles, we rode the Greenway from Saint Louis Park to where the trains are and back. We visited Minnehaha Park? and wished we brought bikes. We had a blast. What a cool city.

Anyways, went off on a bit of a tangent there. Jacked Up Pilot turned out great. Definetly one of my favorites this year. 8)

Re: Jacked Up Pilot, Last few pics

Thanks guys! The world is a better place to ride in with our new cool bikes, right? :D
Super happy I could inspire someone else to enjoy the great natural resources in Mpls :D :D

Just had to throw in a last few shots

Thanks Nick! :D Sure you'll make a bike with an even bigger tire
Your bike is awesome and your doing well in the voting :D

Took a mellow cruise tonight to catch some of the last light
Super nice out, no wind, no clouds, and 72F :D
Headed down the Lake Street thinking there would be more there
So started finding a pattern of light on brick (or block) buildings and went with it

The bike cruises really nice and it's kinda fun to reach behind my leg to shift
Since the ratchet shifter is mounted to the frame, it has a nice ring to it when I shift
Looking forward to riding to the Mpls Messaround :D
See I got some votes so thanks!!
My payoff is cruising around on this bike, its fun :D

I can't believe all the great bikes in the build off!!
The quality keeps getting higher and it really impressive
It feels good to be done building and just goof around looking at everybody's cool rides

Thanks for looking (at mine)
Steve
