I like THIS bike! Are you going to keep the free wheel or do a coaster brake?......Keep that chainring and guard!

gonna use a coaster on the rear, in order to keep cleaner lines and keep handlebar clutter to a minimum.....

gonna keep the rims, maybe.....?

gonna modify the chainring - just for looks, but i'm gonna lose the guard so as to hard-fit a simple custom made one.....well we'll see.....

ideally, i need to make this beast as reliable and simple as possible, it is after all really ment for lending to friends who might visit us.....

amazing wot masking by handlebar grip does.....
....that chrome is destined to be removed!

HkPkB4E.jpg

the woes of ill-fitting seatposts, luckily these aren't dissimilar metals, so removal was straight forward (and straight to the bin!)

And now for the 'During'.....stay tuned.....

wow, from the pic of the lower stays, that is a quality frame  this frame was meant to be a rat from birth !!!

TA-DAH!
ok, these are mounts for a flat-bed. i'll fill the void in the brass when i come to brazing them in place - tomorrow maybe?
i know, it's all balls...

...talking of which.....

...that's one red-hot cherry-bomb!

TA-DAhhherrrrgh....
luckily enough that there ball bearing was merely chrome plated, which i proceeded to incinerate!
i then did abit more lathe-work; forming a recess in said ball, then modified an M6 stainless bolt (i turned the blind portion down to M4).
these parts were then married using silver-solder; a touch of knurling to the head, and a quick polish, et voila!
