Hey all was looking around at dropper post reviews for modern MTBs and stumbled across this.

Attaches to your seat clamp with a quick release. Top end secures to seat post. When released the seat springs up or can be dropped with weight.

Anyway idea is simple as but the cheapest I've found one is $94 on eBay. I thought this would be pretti simple to make if I could find a similar spring with some modification. The upper clamp could be a seat post clamp as this remains fixed. Anyone know of anything that might work or tried this?

Would also love to see pics of anyone running one of these.

Thinking it would be an awesome mod for a klunker that gets used for trail use.

Didn't think of that, I'll have to look around for one of those.
Also thought of removing the spring from a spring clamp, don't have one on hand though, not sure on the internal dimensions.
