I'm sure a lot of you have a problem with the head tube being too long when you change forks. Last week I built a rat rod and used a 26"" springerfork that was too long. I went to one of the local bike shops and found that threadless forks have spacers, they come in different sizes and I put two of them on under the bottom bearing race and it worked perfect.

Spacers can save cutting a fork so that when you're sick of a certain bikes look/set up you can still use it on a different frame that requires a longer steer tube.

Carpenters say "measure twice, cut once". With forks I try to measure and add spacers without cutting at all.

Threadless set ups offer a lot more choices in my book.
