I have made my decision on who to award a pair of my Thompson Bottle Grips to. It was not easy. Per Justin's suggestion, I decided to go with the Most Nostalgic Looking Bike.

That bike to me is....

(drum roll)

Simplistic Speed.

Wonder Rat was a close runner-up, but ultimately the vintage lights on Simplistic won me over. The bike has a whimsical nostalgic feel to me - very beautiful.

so congrats Machine Age Victim. I'll PM you now for your mailing address.

-Ian

Thank you!!! I love those grips, they'll have a home on a very special bike!

^^ You are most welcome, and deserving. That is a spectacular build.

Great choice! I totally agree, that bike is amazing, a bike I'd want in my collection.

In the absence of any 3rd place prizes, I'm offering up (for each category) a full size poster suitable for framing that will include a photo of the third place bike along with the RRB logo, bike name and build off 8 - 2013 graphics.

Standard poster sizes are 24x36 or 18x24. The winners can choose which size that they would prefer.

Obviously I don't have a picture of the prizes to post here, so just post this:

BUILD OFF 8
POSTER
This sounds like a cool prize!!!! A great idea...

Ok guys need help for best skull features !!!!
So far I have ~
Traditional bikes:

Full View - tvc15- Skull head tassles
The "ROVING GANGSTER" by OldSkool- Front crank.
Tuco Benedicto Pacifico Juan Maria Ramirez by Smoopy's - Chain guard, rack, rear fender.
el Bandido by RockNRolla - Tank art.

Maybe I am missing a few? Any other nominations?

Anything goes:

Resistance Is Futile (aka MegaPixieRay) by dracothered - Headbadge
Victus Mortuus - Tommy Atoms - Do I really need to point out?

I have made my decision for the winner of “The Brightest Spark” - Someone that deserves a nice cool beverage because they did something especially clever and inventive on their build... a champion of ingenuity.

This is the prize...

1zd3bzq.jpg

It was a tough choice as there were many entries with very clever and inventive additions and/or modifications.

So after much to-ing and fro-ing - the winner is...

SOUTHERN FLYER by The Renaissance Man
BUILD THREAD: viewtopic.php?f=75&t=72053
FINISHED THREAD: viewtopic.php?f=78&t=75546
100_5588_zpsdb0bf4bc.jpg

The reasons for my choice are...

1. Clever use of toilet seat hinge parts.

2. Ingenious method of attaching a laid back seat post.

3. Inventive way of using seat clamps for the cool board track drop bars.

4. Cunningly luring watchers into a great build (YZ-24 MotoBike) then switching to another about 5 weeks from the end.

5. Was clever enough to actually research how to get that nice brown metal colour.

6. Grafted on dropouts to the fork with tabs attached for use with the truss rods. The new dropouts added the extra length needed to resolve the “short fender brace” conundrum, skillfully “killing two birds with one stone” as the old saying goes.

7. Using a “nifty little slotted brass plug” to fill a hole on the headlight bowl was also pretty impressive and using the word “nifty” highly comendable.

8. And most brilliant of all... that photo of this deceptively simple bike parked alone on a shady lane with fog hanging serenely in the background, in stark contrast to the frenetic few preceding weeks.

Now that's clever...

Congratulations Renaissance Man, a PM has been sent requesting your postal details.

Cheers,

Glen.

Well deserved winner! Congrats TRM!

Luke.

I have decided on the winner of Chrome Rocky Mountain Oyster trailer hitch hanger for the "Are You Nuts Award?!!!" for the craziest build.

Early on I had always planned to give this award to bpellham for cutting up a Screamer to build Anger Management, but he didn't get his entry in the Finished section.

You could easily say that Luke was crazy for building his wild bike while traveling all over Oz.

But in the end the choice was easy and the prize might actually look just as crazy hanging from the build.

The winner is Victus Mortuus by Tommy Atoms

This is a super cool prize! 8) I'm looking forward to putting it into use!

I have to point out though that #4 and #8 were not entirely my ideas!
(I also thought that it was nifty how you used the word "frenetic".) :D

Thank you for the recognition!

Ok so I have decided on the winners for skull features...
