The rear wheel with the GoodYear tire also had a Carlisle heavy duty tube with a gash.

I dug out a couple of spoke wrenches a while ago. Again to my disbelief the nipples that needed to turn did. So the current plan is to leave well enough alone and forgo respoking wheels. I'll clean out the hubs and grease bearings. The rear coaster brake is working.

I'm still waffling on the tires. The GoodYears just don't fill out the fenders too well. I've looked at a bunch of other options. Think I want black walls without graphics or the reflective stripes in 2.35 or 2.30, 2.50 might work.

I ran across these 26x2.30 Kenda Kiniption's, has anyone used them?

I will recommend these to you, as I have to others. Sunlite Sandy Beach, 26 x 2.5. No logos. Fills out these relatively deep fenders well.

Here's the link to the wholesaler, JBI.bike. Your LBS can order from one of their many locations, in stock at all currently.

Got mine for $19.99 each.

Since the spokes cooperated with a few adjustments, I repacked the front New Departure hub. I took the rear New Departure Model D hub apart, cleaned it waiting for another day to put it back together. I also gave the rims and spokes treatment of BLO. My old back is spent for the day.

They don't build them like they used to...73 years or so new.

Twenty four inch Wheel on a Post...yard art for my wife. We first saw them in Alaska a few years ago. She has been bugging me to do one due to a few wheels laying around.

That's a cool garden adornment. I wonder if some wood 'blades' held between the spokes at an angle would create a 'bicycle wheel windmill' ...we've got those metal posts around our garden...

I loose fit wheels on frame. The fenders will go back on after doing some tire experimentation. Some of my other bikes may loan out their tires for appearance tests, lots of time. Again the idea behind this bike is to honor its past and not move into the future to far.

Need to clean up chain, it's been soaking for a while. One of the last messy things to do.

How about a set of Electra Vintage Diamonds
They kinda look like the original Goodyears too.

Yes they are on my radar. I used a pair on the EvansColson BO bike that I did a couple of years ago. I've been thinking about swapping them out to see how they look. They do fill out the fenders pretty well.
Thanks! How do you think they would look in cream?

If you are thinking cream, I would check out the Continental Retro Rides. I put one on the rear of One-liner before I sold it last summer. Ride great, and I like the tread pattern.

I used them on the Edgy Elgin bike in brown. They have a reflex stripe and are only 2.2" wide. They ride smooth and have a retro looking tread pattern.

I have discovered that another tire "Sunlite Revolutions" is available in 26x2.50 with what appears to be the same tread as the Electras, for fewer dollars. FYI

Yeah, the Sunlite Revolution is the brother to the Sandy Beach tire I picked up. Same tire, different tread design. Should be a good one!
