European built for sure. Strange U-tube frame.
That's what I was thinking. The BB gave me that idea. I think the wheels are wrong to the bike. It's for sale about a hundred miles from me with a '60s Murray girls bike in about the same shape.
Bent forks and 200 miles round trip. I would pass.
It's not even a parts bike. It's been listed for while.
That's a funky looking frame...I've gone about that far for less interesting stuff .
If I get anything i have to drive for it. Slim pick'ns around these parts.
Don't know if this info is to late for you
But that frame is a Stelber
Made in New York if I remember correctly
(I have a 24" frame waiting to be built)
Btw not all of their bikes had the bend at the BB
Thanks. I think he sold it. It is not listed any longer.
Stelber you say? Steller and Berkowitz. Two guys who ran a chain of department stores on the east coast. They started their own bike factory. Most were pretty low grade bikes according to everything I've read. I have a 3 speed Stelber Made in England (Raleigh or Phillips make).
Stelbers were cheap import bikes, they later changed the name to Iverson, and those used mostly CBC/Ross parts and were higher quality. -Adam
