Another 1979 Heavy Duti.............gotta love thursday garage sales

My wife found this bad boy on a garage sale FB page this morning and ask if it was a good one I said yes and left my house at 8 30am so I could get there when it opened. It looked roached from sitting in a barn so I got it at a good price from the original owner. Two hours later with a SOS pad and this is the finished product. OG headlight ,rear reflector and owners manual..........I gotta quit buying bikes!

what year did they drop the forged forks? Is that still a Chicago frame?

I think they dropped forged forks in 81ish 82ish, yes it is a Chicago frame. Thanks for all the good words, I really am liking this bike. Going to ride it tonight on a 12 mile rip.

Just something about old schwinns.....I hate selling them, but you cant keep them all much less ride them all at once. I do how ever let my friends ride them so I can justify having so many bikes!
