IMG_20170421_115956.jpg Retrieved this lemon yellow ladies Schwinn from curbside garbage pickup.

The name for the build roughly translated is "Under going Revival".

The only plan is to use left over parts and unconventional items in the build.

Box of parts to be used on the build. In the red box, I am seeing handgrips and maybe a headlight.

Got some oops paint for the fender & frame base coat. IMG_20170501_145754.jpg

Fabbed up the fenders to test the paint for the fenders & frame.

Torched & used light steel wool to take the gloss off the yellow paint. The result gave the paint a "bruised banana" look. I used the oops Gray paint as the undercoat and torched it. Then dappled the stain and lightly torched. The result looks like aged armour.

Next up is the fork. IMG_20170501_144523.jpg IMG_20170501_165539.jpg

Funkme, thank you for the kind words of encouragement. Just wanted to test my paint technique out.

    Your builds always inspire me.

Cool paint technique! What was the color of the stain before you 'torched' it?

Nothing wrong with curb side pickups & spare parts . If you can't fix it with duck tape or a hammer a torch is the next best thing !!!! Flame on bro

Unearthed some old practice cymbals to be faux finished for front wheel disc covers. IMG_20170502_164926.jpg

    Thanks!
What are practice cymbals made out of? Plastic?
    Awesome thinking!

Luke, yes they are plastic. Found two more larger ones for the rear wheel.

Whew! Has taken two days to get this point on One Front wheel disc. Still need one more application of stain to match fenders.

Since the disc are plastic, I have to go slow & easy with the torch. Thus, the increased cure time between torchings. Only three more to go after the final app on this one. IMG_20170504_170902.jpg

In between cure times, fabbed up a pair of fork dodads to add some flair to the fork.

Used two sets of drum lugs & valve springs and attached to the leg. Will add the second pair when ready to paint the fork. IMG_20170504_173813.jpg IMG_20170504_173822.jpg IMG_20170504_173813.jpg

Those spring doodads look cool but I think you should name this bike The Torch

Applied Aged Blacksmith finish to the fork & dodads. It doesn't show in the pic, the color is a deep chocolate.

The contrast between the fender looks good. IMG_20170505_174439320.jpg
