when i was doing the lucky 7 i almost had a disaster with the paint. since i owned the bike i have always waxed it with turtle wax. when i had her down to bare frame i wanted to remove some of the scuff marks so i used a citrus degreaser sold by a bicycle company. when that stuff hit the years of was it instantly turned to a sticky snot all along the top tube. i freaked and tried other things to get it off. in the end an hour of using simple green worked great removed the sticky mess as well as the scuffs. just think if it had been the writing on a chainguard it would have been done for. a very close call and a word to the weary. when using such a product try it on a part that is out of view first befor slathering the top tube in the gunk
