Here are a couple that I have done with 24 x 3 " rims and tires.I found it really depends on the bike brand and model.

So are you just running regular fenders made for 26ers?
yeah about that, if you can find Columbia paperboy fenders you won't have to fight with braces rubbing. I am constantly having issues with things like braces and the wheels have to be super tru to fit in some of the frames or I have to crimp them. I also dish the chainwheels so the chain doesn't rub. again it is the has to be super tru to fit in some of the frames. The fire arrow I can fit like five pieces of paper in between the frame and that tire. Thick bricks have a little more play in them though, the 24x3 is slightly shorter so rubbing the inside top of the fender isn't an issue hang on. if its on there nice and solid no big deal but these crummy newer braces tend to get bumped and in transit and you have to bend them back out perfect

These fireballs are really unforgiving. This gives you an idea how much play I have in there. It will hold an ID on both sides

Pay no attention to that scuffing on the tire that was from a previous debacle when I tore out all of the spokes riding wheelies on this thing one day

That one on the right made a lot of torque

Thick bricks are much more forgiving

I just add a washer here

Flip this sprocket

And the older balloon fenders with the really solid braces give you plenty of room. I don't know if you can see that but the brace is slightly modified to make it just a little wider. Like I said the Columbia fenders are bigger with bigger braces for some reason

I don't know if you can see this but I had to dish this to make room on the chain side with the fire whatever tire when it was on my motorbike

I eventually went with an older style and an extra washer before the incident/ nasty wreck/ whatever
