Speaking of our trade, I came across another Golden Flyer at a swap this past weekend that I couldn't resist. It's about 75% there including the googly-eyed Delta tank!

Finally a newsworthy update. :lol:
As previously mentioned, I've been having tire/wheel/fender issues, but I think I've landed on the right combo. I wanted to use a 24" wheelset with 24x3 tires, but the first iteration felt like a moon-lander:
Next I tried a 24x2.125 up front. Tire/wheel combo did not play nicely with the Monark fender:
Then I tried a 26" wheel up front. Hmmm...still not happy with the fender, but onto something:
Swapped the Monark fender for a Shelby fender from the parts stash and BINGO! Wheel and tire fit nicely:
Still working on a final paint combo, but I've really been digging black tires on black wheels lately so that's where I'm at for now:
Now for my next dilemma. I picked up a rad headlight at a swap last weekend that fits the EvanAction springer like it was made for it (see last pic). I think it's actually a motorcycle headlight and has these great tear-drop shaped lights on either side. The only problem is it "hides" the super-cool tank/light combo on the frame. Enter option #2, the Rat Trap springer from Terry...

Threw the rat trap and Monark fender on tonight with a wheel I had laying around. I like the way the RT lines up with the frame, but I think the EvanAction is definitely the way to go:
Also decided to save the headlight for another project on down the road. Gettin' closer to the fun part. 8)

Glad I was able to provide a jumpstart to this wicked build. I am having fun with the FireWing side of our trade. It's time for you to get back to having fun with the Firebolt tank side. Post photos of your Golden Flyer find.
Good idea to drop the big light. You have to show off that googly eye tank. (I just picked up another Columbia bell tank).
KEEP HAVING FUN!!!!
Good call to stay with the EvanAction and use the light later. Great eye in assembling all of these parts.
Finally had some time today to get a good mockup. I'm pretty stoked with where my parts selection ended up. 'Bout time to do some blasting!
