    A couple stupid tandem questions???

I agree that there is probably not a standard spacing between the cranksets. But if you'd like a data point, the cranksets on my 60's Huffy tandem are spaced at 25 1/2 inches on the centers.

    Any Punk Rockers on here?

You forgot The Crucified, Lifesavors Underground (and all the Mike Knott offshoots), Lust Control, Crashdog, The Lead, Fluffy, Tribe of Dan, The Clergy, Street Angel and the mighty Scaterd Few. Not to mention all the post-punk, industrial and alternative bands of the era. The scene was vibrant...

    Industrial trike!!!

Emanon, I can't help you with the trike situation, but I can encourage you in your concerns regarding your sons ability to ride a bike. My 12 yo daughter is "moderately" autistic and went through a few years of sensory integration therapy, ages 3-5 roughly. It took her forever (it seemed) to...

    VINTAGE BIKE MAGAZINE?

My opinion would be that you'd have a hard time selling enough of a print mag even if you covered all matter of vintage bikes. I've come to the point that I rarely pick up print magazines anymore, it seems everything shows up on the web first anyway. But I think the idea is ripe for an e-zine...

Mr.Muscles( ChickenHunter Special ) by Huffy!

Wow a bike shop next to used books and records store! Tell me there's a little grocer next door and I'd have everything I need. All life's necessities in a half-block. Where is this little slice of heaven? Welcome to the board, lookin' forward to your build.

    anyone in Denver with $175??

I may be wrong, but I'm calling BS on the seller. You can easily buy aftermarket kits to convert a bike to a trike (fer instance: http://www.aztlanbicycle.com/lowrider-trikes.html and scroll to the bottom). I think that's what's being sold here. Still it's cheaper than buying the kit new.

    THE GREEN HORNET

Yowza! That's great. I love the shape of the tank, very much like the shape of a hornet (oh death where is thy sting?). The grips are great idea, love the color too.

    Re-pop Schwinn GREY GHOST

So are these repops lighter weight than an original? Have they used modern tube sets in cro-mo or aluminum? It'd be nice to save a few pounds!

    saved from the scrap gods

Wow! Amazing what some elbow grease and a can of paint can do. That seat is fabulous, awesome look. Although I imagine not too comfortable for the next century ride. Personally I wouldn't change a thing, just enjoy it!

    SCREEN NAME MEANINGS

Culturevirus has no real meaning. I made it up years ago when I was heavy into the industrial music scene and thought it sounded appropriately gritty and obscure. I've kept it just to maintain continuity in my online life. In the real world I never use it and don't really have a nick except for...

    Sew what, get it anyways!

Very cool machine DD. I have a similar vintage Necchi. Never used it, I'm not sure what it's capabilities are. I like it just for cabinet, it makes a nice table. A friend who repaired sewing machines gave it to me.

    Budzillacycles - Furniture build

The bike turned out fabulous. The lines, color, and components blend together beautifully. I'm not surprised people have a hard time believing that you started with a piece of furniture. Had you not painted the frame people would have no problem seeing your genius and vision. Once again...

What do you do, when you do what you do?

I work for that big airplane company in Seattle, you may have heard of it. I write airplane maintenance manuals and provide customer support for airlines regarding maintenance issues.

    Any other Rat Rod Drivers...

My part time driver is an unrestored '66 Dodge Dart wagon. I also have the start of something truly ratty and a rod in the form of a 39 Ford pickup cab, grille, hood and front fenders along with a flatty and banjo rear end.

    My wifes bike

Maybe I missed it in yor write-up, but are the tires an off-the-shelf item? Or did you color them yourself. If you did it yourself please share with us how it was done. I'd love to color sidewalls to match or contrast a paint scheme.
