Not quite, closer to this but more angular, less swoopy:
Single straight downtube, very odd-looking cast aluminum caliper brakes, just an oddling in every way. I am looking everywhere for info on this company, coming up with not much so far.
I ran across an odd old bike at the flea market today, it was a Rivel Cinderella, sort of a moped-style frame similar to a Honda Express, bright orange. Only thing I could find out was it's a Dutch maker. Anyone ever see one of these things?
Yeah, just a tad! For that coin, I could hook up both myself and my wife each with a sweet cruiser and a Vespa for when we need some non-physical motivation!
...., all this looks like a blast! I got inspired by this build-off, so I dug an old ladies Columbia out of the trash pile and started tinkering with it. Wish I joined in on this one!
I'm pretty sure it was made by Bridgestone from 82-84. Japanese made. Prices on old school BMX stuff are all over the place. It's not a 70s Mongoose, Redline, or SE/PK Ripper so it's not huge dollars, but I'd gladly cruise it! Post a pic!
If you're just looking for a skinny whitewall and don't care if it's the exact same Schwalbe, my wife has a pair of Cheng Shins on her bike that have the same look to 'em, and if I remember correctly, they were $38 for the pair at our local bike shop. If you want, I could find out the model so...
Around here there are only a few BMW guys, and they seem to be really ok. They're mostly older, but they definitely ride the heck out of 'em, and they're not snobbish at all. At least one of them I know gave up his car completely and rides the bike from March until November exclusively. All the...
ETCHING PRIMER! Best stuff to paint wheels. Go to your local auto paint supply place and pick up a can. Yes, they sell it in large spray cans. It's brand called SEM. They make various colors, too. It will etch itself into aluminum or chrome, then you can do extremely light coats of the red...
People who look at cartoon porn on the internet and think it's hot.
Delis in my area who spell SANDWICHES on their signs like SANDWICHS
Businesses who have N's backwards on their signs
Hipsters who think hanging around a bar listening to a lame DJ play krap on his laptop is kooler than going to...
Anyone here go to the Northeast Bicycle Swap in Connecticut this past Sunday? I was unable to make it up AGAIN, and I try to every year, and every year something comes up! So, if anyone went, how was it? Post pics please!
So we're going rapid-fire now, huh? ok, here we go...talking animals or babies in movies and commercials, kids who think they're punk because their parents buy them $100 tickets to go see Good Charlotte, dudes who drive giant Hummers and swerve around tiny potholes, krappy CGI effects in movies...
I can't show this thread to my wife. She would probably want me to build her one of her own, and I have enough on my ...... plate. Thanks a lot, man!
Nicest bike I've seen in a long, long time. Maybe I'll just build one for myself, and let her ride it every now and then.
