    Check out this old tire.

I was looking through my 20 inch tires and stumbled on this one. It say it is a Swallow Monster-Trac. Size is 20 x 2.125 and it says it takes a 20 x 1.75 inner tube. This thing looks like it belongs on a hill climber motorcycle.

    Yesterday turned out well

    Friend and I went picking yesterday. http://i1125.photobucket.com/albums/l58 ... 08a71b.jpg http://i1125.photobucket.com/albums/l58 ... 836b4a.jpg http://i1125.photobucket.com/albums/l58 ... 1471b9.jpg http://i1125.photobucket.com/albums/l58 ... f31dff.jpg

    Haro Cozmo

I picked up a nice Haro Cozmo, but really know very little about this style of bike. The guy I got it from said it was an expensive bike when new. Even the tires say Haro on them. Anyone know current ballpark values for this bike? Thanks. http://i1125.photobucket.com/albums/l58 ... 847d95.jpg

What in the world is this??

I have never before run into a contraption like this. Says it is a Radial Gear 9 Speed. When you push/pull the shift lever, it somehow stops the front chainring (nylon) and the parts that drive the chain then move in in slots (smaller diameter) or out (larger diameter). If that isn't weird...

    Added 3

I've been trying to avoid buying any more bikes, but yesterday I fell off the wagon and spent a big chunk of change. Purchased a nice original 1966 Schwinn Fastback, early 1900's Napolean wood rim and a Schwinn Deluxe Cruiser 100th Anniversary reproduction. I'll post photos later.

    Old member - new location

Finally retired and got the heck outta boom town Williston, ND. Moved to the quiet little town of Ottertail, MN. May take months to get all my bikes and parts unpacked and sorted out.

    Wish me luck! - UPDATE

Hopefully I will have some fresh finds to report when I get home next weekend. I am supposed to meet up with a gentleman who claims he has over 700 bikes stored in a building on his property. I have no idea what they are or if his prices will be such that I can buy anything. I am keeping my...

The scrap iron guy ain't gonna be happy!!

Cleaning the extra wheels out of the garage today. The scrap iron just hates it when I bring in a load like this. http://www.nemontel.net/~gbradbury/wheelpile.JPG

North Dakota - you gotta love it

Snowed all day today - May 13. Thankfully most of it melted as it hit the ground. Still pretty cold though, only 36 degrees at 5 pm.

    Good news - bad news

The good news is I scored a pickup load of small parts - cables, bearings, axles, nuts, bolts, hubs, etc. The bad news is I'm holed up in a hotel in Fargo, ND in the middle of a raging blizzard. All the roads are closed and they figure it will be another day before it will settle down enough to...

    Am I the only one.......

that is getting tired of winter? We had a few warm days and then bam!! Yesterday it started raining so we got a nice coat of ice on everything and then it turned to snow. This morning we had 9 inches of new snow on top of what we had before. Somebody should beat the crap out of that ground hog...

    Breakfast bunch

All the snow makes it difficult for the wildlife to find anything to eat, so I put out feed in the backyard. These guys showed up for breakfast this morning. I have had as many as 8 deer and 28 pheasants at one time. http://www.nemontel.net/~gbradbury/breakfast.JPG

    Check this out!!!

Just got home from praise team practise and this is what the thermometer says out on the deck. http://www.nemontel.net/~gbradbury/cold.JPG The record low for here on this date is -42 and they are saying we might break the record tonight. I sure hope not.

    Winter Anyone?

We received 8 inches of snow yesterday and it is still coming down. The actual air temperature is 17 below zero and the wind chill is minus 45. If anyone was waiting for me to go out and dig for bike parts, it is going to have to wait cause it ain't going to happen today!!

Went hunting - got my limit.

Had a good weekend. Once I get them unloaded and photos taken, I'll be posting a majority of them in the classifieds. http://www.nemontel.net/~gbradbury/bikeload.JPG

    Make a Personal License

This is a cool website. You can pick your state and some different years and add your name or whatever numbers you like, and it creates the license as it would have looked for that year. I just fooled around with it a little and after creating the plate I wanted, I right clicked on it and saved...

    Poor Man's Method

I had a stem that was super rusted in a fork that I really wanted to save. I cut the stem off above the fork nut so I could get it out of the frame. I had heard that heating rusted parts red hot and dousing them with cold water will cause them to shrink enough to break the rust bond. I don't...

I hate to be a whiner, but...........

Some forum members have asked me to hold items for them, which I have no problem with...if it is a reasonable length of time and they keep the lines of communication open. What I do have a problem with is the guy who asks me to hold something and then months go by and I never hear anything. I...
