Well I ran across these last weekend but the guy Couldent sell them because thay were his buddies and he Couldent get a hold of him so I gave him my number and I got a call to day and a price and off I went to get them I only really want the head badge for Obvious reasons I have never seen one like it but I thought it might be a rare one can any help me out on it? As far as a age thanks

Im thinking its an Elgin, but research that more. Just my first impression.
 
I think the second one is a strange transitional period Elgin/Higgins. It looks like one of the last Elgin badged bicycles before the war or one of the first JC Higgins bicycles after the war. The tank is a postwar Higgins and may fit the bike.
