1994 Marin Palisades Trail MTB

Found this today at a DAV Thrift shop. $44.00 out the door. I know nothing about Marin brand bikes other than I only see them at the bike shop and not the big box stores. Only thing it is missing is the stem cap that hides the pinch bolt and the left hand shifter cover. The seat is not stock either. It rides very nicely and shifts up and down quite precisely. Seems to be on the light weight side of things as well. Trying to decide if I should add it to the stable or flip it. Thoughts?

Nice bikes, I learned about them like you, after I found one in a thrift store. Plenty of money to be made there if you flip it, it'll sell real quick at $150 or so, maybe more depending on your area. Probably in the $5-600 range new.

I think they make good bike. I was a dealer back in 2000. That's an older bike and entry level but it looks in nice clean shape.

If you go to Marin County (by san francisco bay area), they are EVERYWHERE. Based on this craiglist add, the bike is worth over $700 (sarcasm):

I picked the same bike up a few weeks ago.I paid 55 for mine..it has a lot of nice parts on it..
