Stumbled into this ladies Monark that appears to have been fabbed by AS & Co. The steel identifier plate attached to the bottom bracket underside indicates a Model# 4418 and Serial# A6308162 and I'm not able to find much about it. A little help with the date and possible worth would be greatly appreciated. The rear hub is a New Departure, with a grease port and the front is a Bendix. Everything except the tires appears to be OE. Thanks!

I've never heard of Schwinn building any of these for Monark. Do you have a pic of the mfg plate.

I think the alien pedestal fender lights are late 40s early 50s..

Also take a good pic of the top of the light. There are certain trim pieces on those that can id the year range too.

Get a good pic of the rear fender reflector and the trim piece down below it.

The rims look different from what you typically see on Monarks. It's possible the wheelset isn't original, but hard to say.

I thought you said AS&Co (Arnold Schwinn & Co) :D
The A S on the tank is probably just something a previous owner put on there.

Judging from info on the CABE, the pedestal light was used from 1946-1949

Serial number indicates it is from 1947
