Laugh if you will but I got rocked this weekend by bands such as Thousand Foot Krutch, Seventh Day Slumber,Newsboys and a young band out of Gilroy (garlic capitol of the world) by the name of Chasing Truth, they have a my space check em out they rock hard and the oldest member is like 17 I believe, I grew up with Iron Maiden, Scorpions,Def Leppard,Black Sabbath,AC/DC but now I dont have to cover my daughters ears for language at least.

There's a lot of great christian bands out there. They aren't really metal but a couple of my favs are Third Day and Casting Crowns.

I seen Casting Crowns Live two years ago....you could feel the spirit ever so present in the whole arena, still gives me God bumps thinking about it.

Years ago I was in to a band named Kings X. Don't if they're still around or not. They still pop up on the Ipod every now and then.

I always liked this song.

are you in that video?
Cool I remember that song.....Now I didn't know they were Christian at the time, but then at the time I wasn't neither.

I dont know if anyone has heard of Jeremy Riddle but I am going to see him tonight at a tent revival in Lakeport where he is giving the word and doing the worship, I rebuilt a couple of mountain bikes for a couple of his family members and his youngest brother is in my youth group.

Yep, I've heard of him. "Sweetly broken" gets played a lot on the local christian station. Great Song!

Also, for what its worth- Personally, I wouldnt consider ANY of the bands above (except maybe Kings X) as "metal"- more CCM/Rock.
I also dont belive in the diety (chrisitan/nonchristian/"secular") of music. I used to be heavily invoved in youth ministry, with an emphasis on music, so i know my way around the "scene"

If you want some Metal created by Christians, check out some of these guys-
(i put them in order with the HEAVIEST at the top)

You may not be able to understand every word uttered, but I can assure you that the lyrics of the bands above are solid!
If you want more suggestions/opnions let me know!

As a youth pastor I try to listen to music that wont stumble someone who lets say is having trouble trying not to cuss with every other word or trying to get out of a rough drug situation so if the music isn't positive its really hard to enjoy without conviction. There is just to many negative influences in the world........My wife always says AC/DC would be an awesome Christian band.

I stated listening to Christian Rock a few years back and added to my music selections. I also like Jeramy camp

My favs:
Casting Crowns
Skillet
Third Day
Switchfoot
Lifehouse

Still like non Christian such as:
Nickelback - New Release "Dark Horse" Nov 18, 2008
Creed - Wish they were still together
Daughtery
GNR
Chevelle
Shinedown

PS - Jeramy Camp has a new release today. "Speaking Louder Than Before". I will be purchasing.
