On the Columbias, the number will be on the left dropout. The font and depth is less than most bikes so they might be hard to see. They should start with a letter that will ID the year.

Nice bikes! The Sears has a Monark chain wheel and the older Columbia has a Rollfast 60's chain wheel. I'm not sure where the serial number will be on that one, with the rear facing dropouts. I think I saw that bike or one just like it somewhere recently.

Ok. Thanks I will try and locate it there

N would be 1950.
I still can't find a pic of a Columbia with those dropouts or that chain guard. Or the paint scheme.

I looked at the 1950 poster for Columbia. I don't see that chain guard, but the paint scheme is the same as on the little red bike with the training wheels. So I believe it is a Columbia. I think RustyGold is right about it as a lower end model. I'd sure like to have one.

I think it might have the wrong chainguard. It has the double bar and actually it is almost perfect match paint color and scheme as the bottom right corner on thus poster

The paint scheme matches the bottom right on the poster. It even has the little white arrow type marks in white on the top bars and the forks. I think it most likely has the wrong chain guard and sprocket
