Nice 4 bar bike! Probably sold by Sears (JC Higgins), definitely made by Murray, early 60's. It had a tank of some kind, and the bracket on the forks is for a book rack, not a springer.

That's a nice Huffy, it's all there. The serial number should give you the year, 8Hxxxxx would be a 68 model, the first number is the last digit of the year. It looks mid 60's. It may have old batteries in the tank that need to be taken out.

Agreed the Huffy Silver Jet is nice. Those frames are long too, nice for adult-sized riders.
This bike started as one, with the banana seat and apehangers, it was almost too big for me @5'9"

I thought I replied to this thread, I guess I didn't hit "post reply". I responded to his request on the CABE as well. As said, for those who may not know, this is an early 1964 Silver Jet. Huffy began to transition to the new frame design in 1964, and with that came a new, very narrow chain guard. This bike has the earlier style guard, which leads me to believe it is an early '64 model with a carry over part. I like it, and it will clean up VERY nice!

The headlight appears to be the more durable, and difficult to find, metal replacement that Huffy used from about 1967/68 onward to replace the fragile plastic bezels that kept breaking.

is this a pro thunder
