thanks for the info and looking forward to more on the build off bike
>>>Eliminator 20" Muscle: Final finished picture here, p. 62Re: >>>Bratz Eliminator 20" Muscle Bikewas wondering about that...(kinda figured it would be pricey...cant imagine what spokes would run IF you could find someone who could get them that long!)
thanks for the info and looking forward to more on the build off bike
Re: >>>Bratz Eliminator 20" Muscle BikeOkay, it is time for episode 29 of "As the Eliminator Turns," The Speedometer:
![]() Here is the drive unit of the speedometer on the wheel: ![]() The green zip ties will be replaced with black ones once I get some. And here is the speedometer: ![]() All looked well, but the speedometer only worked if the wheel was spun backwards. That was not good, so I had to take the little black cap off the drive unit, put it on the other end, and run the cable to the end where the black cap used to be, and then spin the drive unit around. A simple task. ![]() Then all was well. Well, actually it wasn't. I don't like the way the cable bumps out in the front: ![]() ![]() I can't change the length of the cable, so I will move where the speedometer mounts. All I have to do is move the speedometer off the bottom of the handlebars where it now is and slide it up the handlebar some until I use up the extra cable: ![]() Then the cable can be like this: ![]() I just have to make a mount for it so I can put it where I want it... I tried being serious, but it was boring.
Re: >>>Bratz Eliminator 20" Muscle Bike...but in the meantime, it is like this:
![]() And the bike is this: ![]() On the good side of the equation, I like the black speedometer. It matches the black in the bike, so I am not going to make a shiny "can" for it. This concludes episode 29 of "As the Eliminator Turns." Next episode will be Moving the Speedometer.* *I need to come up with more catchy names for my episodes. Re: >>>Bratz Eliminator 20": Speedometer pg 29
Yeah, the bike is at work and some people just think they should grab stuff and sit on stuff and move stuff...well, actually it is just one person, but every time he comes near it, I have to tell him again that the sign applies to him. Other than that goofball, everyone else respects the property of others and leaves things alone unless they ask. I tried being serious, but it was boring.
Re: >>>Bratz Eliminator 20": Speedometer pg 29the black speedo looks great! You'll need to know how fast you're going to keep that wheelstand up on the wheelie bars. Oh yeah!!

Re: >>>Bratz Eliminator 20": Speedometer pg 29
Nope, but I have a plan to built it into the backrest...maybe--have to contemplate on it a bit more. ![]() Then again, I might put the thing under the seat because I like the clean look of the sissy bar. But if I put it down low, it is more likely to get caught in the tire, but if I put it...ah, too much thinking for now, but this is why I am still contemplating! I tried being serious, but it was boring.
Re: >>>Bratz Eliminator 20": Speedometer pg 29I really like the paint and the wheelie bar.

Re: >>>Bratz Eliminator 20": Speedometer pg 29Thanks, MazdaFlyer. Up until now everything went fairly quickly. Now I, like many people, seem to have little time to work on the bike. But I have a month and a half and it's coming together.

Now here's a clue for the next episode of bike building. I know the next episode was supposed to be finishing the speedometer, but it will wait. I had an idea. Here's the idea: ![]() That's right, it's a drag racing Christmas tree. I wanted the concept on my bike since it's a drag racing bike, but I hadn't thought of where to put the idea until now. But combine the Christmas tree with pedals, and the deal is done. I made some beaded pedals in the past. Here is the thread: http://www.ratrodbikes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=42974&p=418518&hilit=bow+pedals#p418518 Those pedals went on another bike, so I must make more. The pedal on the top in the picture below is one of the beaded bow pedals I made. The pedals below will be known as The Drag Racing Christmas Tree Bratz Eliminator Beaded Bow Pedals. Ain't hard, just involves yanking out the reflectors, and replacing it with a strip of brass or something similar and cabochons--that's right, cabochons--I'll call them beads from here on out. ![]() What you have there in that picture is a tube of glue, some beads, two pedals that need done, and one pedal that is done (only the wrong colors). Anyway, instead of the red/yellow beads I put in the other pedals, I'll put in two yellow, a green and a red. That will be the drag racing Christmas tree look I am going for. And those will be The Drag Racing Christmas Tree Bratz Eliminator Beaded Bow Pedals. And I will be happy. Actually, I'm happy now, so that won't matter, but I'll be happier. Well, not really, they're just pedals...anyway, moving on... However, all I have in cabochons at the moment is a few reds. Once I get the yellows and greens, this gig is going down. Only this time I will use slightly smaller beads so they can separate a bit more and use a piece of aluminum painted black instead of a piece of brass. Actually, I have to use slightly smaller beads because the place I buy them doesn't have yellow (or as they say in the cabochon business: foiled topaz) any longer in that size. Re: >>>Bratz Eliminator 20": Speedometer pg 29Cool idea!!!! And they look so much better thatn the bald headed Christmas tree on PINKS!
I have a pair of pedals on my Dahon Jetstream that light up as you pedal. It would be cool if they came in a bowtie style and could light up your tree cabochons. BO8 FireWing-Flexy-Fugsley-Beer Run * SALE ITEMS, FRESH FINDS + KINGFISH254 Stuff
