Re: B.M.B. -JohnThomas Sorrels- update: Bricks Have Arrived!love the green details, first thing i tought tho was that with the saddle move back that much and also mounted that high the empty space between the saddle and the wheel doesn't look good, maybe you should think about lowering the saddle to get rid of the space there or maybe fill it with something?
Re: B.M.B. -JohnThomas Sorrels- update: Bricks Have Arrived!
What would you fill the space with? I can't really lower the seat because the main reason for this bike is a daily commuter so function has to come before form but I'm open for any ideas.
Re: B.M.B. -JohnThomas Sorrels- update: Bricks Have Arrived!
some kind of sissybar maybe?
Re: B.M.B. -JohnThomas Sorrels- update: Bricks Have Arrived!JTS, I like the seat, if it fits that's good. With the handlebars, perhaps a stem with some rise and a swept back bar might work. My winter commuter had a mustache bar, it worked well.
I like the fact that it's not what you see every day for a cruiser build. It has cruiser elements but also has street function. Cool bike! Do not hope for an easy life, hope for the strength to endure a hard one.
Re: B.M.B. -JohnThomas Sorrels- update: Bricks Have Arrived!Do like a lot of folks do, lower the seat and flip the bars for photo ops, then raise everything for actual riding. The bike is looking good.

Re: B.M.B. -JohnThomas Sorrels- update: Bricks Have Arrived!
I always wandered if people did that or not because some of the bikes I see look unrideable unless your 4' tall, haha. I'm also thinking about adding a rear rack, not only will it fill some space and be able to carry things but will double as a rear fender for when it rains.
B.M.B. JohnThomas Sorrels-RIDEABLE!Got a Chain today and took it for a ride. Works great but there are still a lot of little things to finish up. Currently riding on borrowed pedals and seat clamp, also working on getting a rack for the back and I need to get a shifter and shift rod still. I'll ride it to work tomorrow and see how it goes but so far I love how it rides.
Re: B.M.B. -JohnThomas Sorrels- update: Bricks Have Arrived!I like the fork you used for the brake stay... I would have used a spatula
Re: B.M.B. -JohnThomas Sorrels- update: Bricks Have Arrived! How's it goin' bro?

Re: B.M.B. -JohnThomas Sorrels- update: Bricks Have Arrived!Yeah we want updates on this ride!
Re: B.M.B. -JohnThomas Sorrels- update: Bricks Have Arrived! It's still going, I have been riding it every day to work. I ordered a shifter and have a few other parts waiting to go on but it's otherwise done. I don't think the shifter is getting here till December so I'll have to take some better pics of the bike for now and update later on with the other stuff.
Re: B.M.B. -JohnThomas Sorrels- update: DoneOther than a rack it it done. I got a shifter, routed the cable and lamp cord through the frame and wrapped the handle bars. I took my camera with me today in hopes of getting some pictures on the way home but it was too dark so I snapped a few shots at work...

Re: B.M.B. -JohnThomas Sorrels- update: Bricks Have Arrived!Man, that looks sweet, those bars, I think I like 'em. Have you been riding it a lot? Looks comfortable, yet wicked sporty.

Re: B.M.B. -JohnThomas Sorrels- 5 month updateI've been riding the bike for a while and decided to change the bars and seat.
![]() I had these bars and stem on a different bike and bought the grips off of ebay, I had to shorten the right grip for the twist shifter... ![]() I won this Brooks B68 off ebay and love it, it's so much more comfortable than the previous seat(s) I had on this bike... ![]() Other than that the bikes working great and I think the new parts not only are more comfortable but look nicer too.
