I knew someone would start crying for additions, and it's a moderator! haha Do you know how long this took to make?!

Other builds can be added, I just wanted to do the yearly build-offs now since we are about to start another, and when it's over I plan to update with the new winners.

Save a place for me,,,,,,

This is also a great thread for all those whining about changing the rules, some have said that with the rules we've hit a ceiling of what can be done with a stock frame... how can you look at these bikes and see how ANYONE or their creativity has been stifled by the rules?

I'm not disputing building bikes that are fully custom or by modifying the frame, I have modified frames too, but in the build-off I think anyone who wants to can build a really awesome bike without having to modify the frame. If they want to, the build-off won't stop them.

True but even a modified frame isnt always as cool as what pple can do with paint petina an set style but I also see your point also not everyone has the welding experinence so it keeps the field pretty level okay your right dont get use to it lol

Just rattling your cage a little. I have made a couple compilation threads and I know the effort that goes into them. Nice work!

Had it been anyone else (Peatbog) I would've been upset, but I knew what you were up too. I'll leave the "other" build-off compilation to someone else.

Went back and looked at the top 3 from each year.......

Only one bike, and not one winner, had a rear rack!!! That seems a little strange to me!

.....or is that an observation that should tell me to reconsider that part of my build?

Hmmmmmmmmm.........

Wow, I didn't notice that! Maybe that explains why my bike wasn't in the top 3 last year!

It's an anti-rack conspiracy! LOL

Honestly, if I get more than a couple of votes, I'll be thrilled. Heck, if I finish on time, I'll be thrilled.

Hey! Why I oughta...

Anyway, looking over the winners, it is apparent that these are really not terribly "wild" bikes. They are all just done very, very well. So it appears that doing things very, very well is more important than any wild skills that few possess. Looks like imagination is helpful also.*

*Example: Madd Hammer front suspension.
