I will definitely add this to my list of stuff to look for at yard sales.
I had totally forgotten about my S'Cool Bus and Demon.

Sadly, due to many reasons, I have not scored a redline at a yard sale since 2006. Even then it was a piece of junk. Not saying they aren't our there, some guys have all the luck and find some every year, but I've given up on the hope that I'll find any more. If I find some, great. If not, then I just buy what I can flip or think is neat.

Oddly, my best money makers are NEVER Hot Wheels. This thread makes that obvious.

Normally at yard sales I buy bikes, bike parts, and things that can be made into bike parts. I'll have to look for hot wheels next time. My last score was my Hawthorne reverse cantilever for $5 and scored the headlight for $1. (Then sold the pedals off of it for $10 and put some black ones on it.) Already made a profit and still own the bike.

The best things to buy are vintage car parts. Why?

Because 90% of the time they are sitting in a dark place, covered in dirt, dust, and filth. To the trained eye, that old "piece of junk" is a rare part for a 1957 Thunderbird, but the yuppie having the sale, its a piece of scrap the husband dragged in. $5 later, you have a nice pay day coming your way.

I've also discovered that, aginst my old belief, that old school video games have value. Not an Atari or NES cartridge, but if you can find a COMPLETE and WORKING system, thats where the money is. SNES systems go for $60 a set, NES (without the blinking red light) $30, Atari 2600 Jr. $50, fat PS2 system, $50, "audiofile" PS 1 $70, etc. Stuff that I've passed up for years.

Now as long as yall don't come trespassing into my territory, we'll be good.

EDIT: I bought a video game collection last year and sold jsut about everything. But I do have a SEGA Genesis 3 and SEGA Dreamcast that work, but need cords and controllers. You won't believe how I tested the Genesis. I used the car adaptor from a Game Gear, the aV cable it currently has, a long extension cord and my brother's small TV. Luckily I have a roomy back seat and it fit in nicely.
