Re: Fellow Kansans- Batten down the hatches!I checked in with Tim and randy and there both okay looks like it just came between haysville and derby looks like oaklawn and spirit took a direct hit
Re: Fellow Kansans- Batten down the hatches! All is ok here Haysville as far as I can tell. I think I can speak for Mitch and Tim also. Talked to Cody in Derby and all is ok there.
Some of us Ratorodders are here in Haysville and the others in Derby and the tornado went between our 2 towns. I think it hit about 2-3 miles form us. Too close for comfort. I always tell myself what are the odds that we'll get hit a 3rd time. I probably said that after the first time. My fingers are crossed there's no human loss or injury.
Re: Fellow Kansans- Batten down the hatches!I was scheduled to work tonight and didn't get a call so I went in to work. I saw tremendous amounts of debris on the roadways. Several buildings at my work were damaged including the plant I work in. I got a little way into the building before I was run off by a manager. I spoke with one of the electricians who was there when the twister hit. He said that the roof was torn off several parts of the building. I guess we will have to wait until daylight to assess the extent of the damage. Luckily there haven't been any reports of fatalities. Lots of people have lost their homes tonight, praying for the best.

Re: Fellow Kansans- Batten down the hatches!Spirit Aerosystems, where garagegoon and I work, has suspended operations indefinitely while they assess the full extent of the damage. The news is reporting damage to all the buildings, six with significant damage and four with major damage.
Spirit is the biggest employer in the Wichita area with over 12,000 employees, and that is not including the employees of the contracted companies that do the housekeeping, parts deliveries, etc. I am hoping that they can get us up and running quickly. The company has scheduled a press conference for 3:00 this afternoon to give an update on the damage to the facility. ![]() Cameron

Re: Fellow Kansans- Batten down the hatches! There were several hundred people working when it hit. We have a very good emergency plan and had a drill a couple weeks ago. No injuries amongst the employees.

Re: Fellow Kansans- Batten down the hatches!Real lucky here. Some damage around our town. Mostly roofs, windows, fences, trees and trampolines.
Couple photos... Cows checking out their new trampoline Another trampoline
Re: Fellow Kansans- Batten down the hatches! The company sent word through the local media that we are not to report to work until Wednesday. Guess that gives me a few extra days to get stuff pulled together for the Midwest Bicycle Swap.
More pics from the damage at Spirit The building in the very back of this pic is Plant II, where I work. I have gotten word from inside the plant that the roof over the north end of the building has been torn off. Cameron

We've got some tornadoes coming through now (~75F) then rain and snow by tomorrow morning.

PARTS lol
Re: Fellow Kansans- Storm damage picsThat is bad news about where you work, udallcustombikes. Hopefully, it doesn't take long to get things up and running so people can get back to work.
I tried being serious, but it was boring.
Re: Fellow Kansans- Batten down the hatches!
Bummer about that damaged trampoline. Cows could have gotten on there and given you a milkshake. I tried being serious, but it was boring.
Re: Fellow Kansans- Storm damage pics
