So today I decided to take the Scooter on its first long ride to a car show about 2 miles from the house.Everything was going just fine cruising alot faster then I thought got a few blocks away from the show when all of the sudden BANG!!!! I learned a lesson on how a master link can undo itself,Yep I lost the master link and had to walk back a block and find my chain So I called my wife to bring the truck got it loaded up and back to the house.I used my chain splitter and made the chain solid now with no master link and Ill try to ride it to the car show next saturday,good thing they have the car show every sat during summer!

I got the chain working good,I rode it for a couple hours with no problems.The only thing I could really use is better brakes.I wore out a set of pincher pads in just a couple hours,I was braking hard and and using them more than normal riding.So I picked a Avid disc set and a 26" MTB wheel,looks like all I need to do is fab a mounting tab for the caliper and it will be good to go!

Thanks,it is fun to ride! Your Roach is over the top!!! I really like the stuff you build!Im getting ready to make a mount so it can stop as good as it goes.

Stopping is very important. And sadly the Roach doesn't agree with that fact. 5 brake cables have gone to the trash thanks to its inability to cooperate. :-/ So we are thinking of doing a drum setup on the front wheel for ol' school factor and function.

I finished the Disc brake upgrade and it came out Great and was easier to do then I expected!! I think Im done changing things for now but If I come across a rear disc ya never know.This thing is a ton of fun and now its even more fun and a little safer,heres some pics...

Rolled it out today and Man Discs work way better the pinchers! Im glad I decided to upgrade!

I rolled out to the local car show this morning with no problems at all.I got alot of great feedback and might build a couple scoots for these guys if the cash is right!I got offered a fist full of cash for this one but im just not giving it up yet,The guy made me write his # down in case I change my mind.All in all a great morning ride with good folks starts the weekend off right!Heres some pics and a 64 HD and a really cool Henderson.
