rat rod material

Postby thom on Sat Apr 14, 2012 10:59 am

Picked this up on Friday. I believe it is a JC Higgins although it has Western Flyer grips on it. I'm thinking new tires and chain, repack or replace bearings throughout an d call it a finished ratrod.

Is something missing from these pedals?

It would look super cool with the crank and chain all polished up but everything else all rusty! How much did u pay for that anyway?!

I think this frame would make an awesome flip bike.

Good deal.
It doesn't matter what I paid for it, it matters what it's WORTH. I never buy anything I will regret KEEPING.

Murray built, could be WF, or Sears. Post a pic of the headbadge.

I realized that I already had a bike like this one in my pile. I dug it out.

Then on Monday I found #3.

The frame on old #1 appears to have been chrome ( or nickel?) plated.

Awesome, yours has a different tank than my two. Mine are JC Higgins and sold by Sears still has the little Sears sticker on the head tube.
