Re: Truing standshttp://www.harborfreight.com/1-inch-travel-machinists-dial-indicator-623.html $12
![]() http://www.harborfreight.com/multipositional-magnetic-base-with-fine-adjustment-5645.html $10 ![]() Neither of these are the high quality of Starrett or Mitutoyo, but they would work fine for wheel truing. The high quality indicators can cost you over $100. This is kind of neat too, but it cost more: ![]() http://www.harborfreight.com/clamping-dial-indicator-93051.html I tried being serious, but it was boring.
Re: Truing standsPoor Man's truing stand... flip a frame upside down, bolt in wheel. Apply masking tape across chain stays approx 1/8" from rim. Mark center of frame on masking tape with Sharpie, then mark width of rim from center mark (5/8 each side of center for 1 1/4 rim). Start truing! Make the rim match the marks and check for roundness at the 1/8 margin.
