Dream Car or Bikes?

Postby Fahrrad on Thu Mar 22, 2012 12:13 pm

For an all original split window ragtop, VW beetle, yep bikes would have to go
If it won't come off with laquer thinner, you need an abrasive!

That is only an oval, so I would have to be able to keep one bike for that one.

im definately not a rich man.although through managing my hard earned money, coupled with a bit of paitience and compromise. i have been able to drive my dream car as well as my bikes.i have a 1966 chrysler 300 with a 440 engine and i have 4 bikes. i would not trade any for the other. i just simply flip flop my extra cash between both hobbies. if i buy something for the car one week. then the next time i have spending money it goes to the bikes. it does take longer to arrive at having a car with every appointment you want as well as every bike done right too..but then who doesnt want another anyways.. thats why i never stop dreaming. i dont plan on winning the lottery or becoming a ceo of a company..im simply a man who is happy monetarily scraping by while enjoying both my passions.without dreams theres no finish line

I really like this thread :) personally, I have alot of run down bikes that I keep picking up from people in my area that don't think they deserve any better than some dumpster. I am 17 and I have an '85 monte Carlo. Not my dream car, but for its Nearly perfect condition, it was very affordable and I am getting much enjoyment out of it. Wisconsin isn't really a place for vintage bikes, but there seem to be alot of car shows. I don't think I would want to choose between either, but the fact is that I barely get to enjoy riding my bikes due to my location. I am really enjoying working on all my unwanted bikes but I never get the chance to enjoy bike rides like all of you talk about. As for my dream car, '70 baracuda. Or '69 Mach1

I've been kicking the car idea around for about a month now, an MG T-series (Midget). I might as well wish for a Lambo. Prices start at about $10,000 for a bucket of parts. I settled for a plastic model. This is why I like bikes so much, it's a bit more affordable to have what I want.

No; I wouldn't. I like working on bikes and riding too much. If I had to choose between the two....I wouldn't.

No Limits Dream Car?

One of the original 5 1963 Grand Sport Corvettes produced by Mr. Duntov.

As a kid, I got to see Delmo Johnson race one at local track, Green Valley Raceway.

The current Grand Sports are very impressive, but nothing like the original 5.

My dream car is a 1957 chevy bel air 2 door with red paint and a black and red interior. I dont know if id give up all my bikes for it, probably, but id get new ones
For lack of being capable of coming up with a witty comment... lemon...

Just saw this thread and laughed a little because I'm working on a trade with a guy, all my bikes for his 460 big block and a C6.

Now yer talkin'! I was wanting to put one of those in the 53' Merc pickup I use to have but didn't have the quid. There's no replacement for displacement. :D

I love 460's because there is sooo much easy torque out of 'em but they drink more than an alcoholic. Ended up trading my tall bike straight up for his motor and trans today. I'm pretty happy with it but now my only bike is a ghetto swing bike  Guess I need to build more.
