Me too. I was used to paying about that for badges from the guy who quite making them. So I am pretty cheap also.

In any case, that is a really impressive looking badge. He did a great job on it. Its good for the sale that some people are willing to pay that. Good move putting it on eBay also.
I tried being serious, but it was boring.

I'd be in for one or two, but it would have to be at a "mass-production" pricepoint. My last build didn't cost what the protptype is going for on the 'Bay!!!!

That's too darn cool!! Has a medallion of sorts been thought of already? Something to affix to the bike itself?

That is a sweet badge. It is like pharmaceutical industry, the pills only cost .04 each, but the first one cost 20 million to make. Good luck to the winner, if I did not just by some other stuff here, I would be in for it.
If it won't come off with laquer thinner, you need an abrasive!

EPIC WIN for sure! Love the play on the typical "Schwinn built" script! -Adam

As for the weathered look, Petrohead, during the build off artificially aged some fresh brass plates by exposing them to the fumes of... ammonia? Yep, I remembered correctly:

Silver plating would be much easier. I have a kit from Caswell Plating and can easily plate brass with silver. Gary

I plated a little piece of copper a few weeks back with nickel....came out OK, but it took time...not that hard...

Maybe I just need to get a Sharpie and sign the back of the first badge.
