Re: western flyer???? how old???Huffy front sprocket, Wald aftermarket chain guard. Probably a 60s Huffy and is a great start for a build.
Give me a spoke and I'll build a bicycle around it.
Re: western flyer???? how old???awesome!
thanks bro...
Re: western flyer???? how old???From Old Roads : Determining a Huffy's age requires two steps:
The last digit of the year of manufacture can be determined by the first digit of the serial number. Then you have to look for other characteristics to determine the decade of manufacture. Example: Your serial number starts with "5" Your cycle has 26 x 1.75 tires Your cycle has a built in tank This would be a cycle manufactured in 1965
Re: western flyer???? how old???where would I find that?
gave it a quick look & didn't see it right off...
Re: western flyer???? how old???hi there buddy, here's my friend joes 62 huffy galaxie, it used to be his dads as you can see they make cool rides

Re: western flyer???? how old???wow...looks like the same (or very similar) tank & frame...
Re: western flyer???? how old???Your serial nuber will be on the rear dropout, where the rear wheel bolts on. Your frame and the tank tell me this one is a 1960-1965 model.
WANTING TO BUY 1963-1966 HUFFY CATALOGS! LOOKING TO BUY HUFFY SILVER JET/MONARK SILVER KING REAR RACK!
Re: western flyer???? how old???I have a 61' JCHiggins (Huffy built) and the serial number for mine was buried under a few layers of dirt and paint, but I finally found them On the bottom bracket shell (almst bottom dead center). Bet yours will start with a W (for Western Flyer), but that first number, like mentioned will be the las didget of the year made. But yeah, on the bottom bracket shell, probably under paint.
