Congratulations to all who entered RRBBO6.

I'm blown away with where Bareknuckle Brawler finished in the voting, I never expected it to finish as high as it did in the final results. Thank you to all who voted for, or commented on my bike throughout the build .

A very deserved win to Petrohead.....Awesome bike!!

For me Aluminati and Curved Odyssey were the surprise packages of the build off...both very unique and well built bikes. Mash Banger, Rats Alt, and Hard Luck were three of my favorites over the course of the build off, and I really thought they would be front runners.....shows how much I know .

I gotta say though, I'm a little disappointed with some members posts regarding their bikes not receiving the number of votes they thought they deserved . Nothing's a given when the results are decided by votes.

After all, in the whole scheme of things, it's only a silly little bike building contest .......sometimes we can lose sight of this.

I'm about to start on a couple of Schwinn OCC Stingray chops, and have also picked up a new Haro Thread Expert DJ frame, as well as a set of Marzocchi Bomber forks and most of the parts to put it all together......My LBS bought a heap of stuff at auction from a wholesaler, and are giving me a mega deal (approx half the price of a complete bike), so no rest for me after the build off . Oh yeah, I also have a bathroom to renovate!

Hahah, thanks inshane! But I've also counted the way Kingfish did: I've counted 18 bikes that ended up higher in ranks than mine so that makes my Singlespeed Hotrod numero 19th. And I'm honoured to share that rank with Motorcitygearjammer, Chunt, Jalopy Jim, and Schwinnray69.

When I looked at Petrohead's post in the finished thread it was obvious that he was going to place near the top. No surprise that he placed #1.

I found this quote from RatRod a while back and thought it was a good time to remind everyone what this site was about. I think he accomplished what he set out to do and maybe more. I like to see not only ratrods, but nice shiny bikes and everything in between.

In regards to the build offs, they were started to increase traffic/activity on the site and give the members a semi-structured environment to build a cool bike. Personally I'd like to keep them very simple and not create a bunch of classes and rules. I think when stuff like this starts to get too complicated then the fun goes away quickly. I'd really like to eliminate the voting part of the build offs altogether. I think most folks would agree that the fun part is watching the build diaries and then seeing all of the finished bikes at the end. I guess the element of competition may drive some folks to push the envelope on their builds, but maybe there could be another incentive to voting like...your bike could end up in a calendar, poster or desktop wallpaper.

So my recommendation is, don't get too hung up on definitions and semantics. Just build cool bikes and have fun."
