Spring board

Postby 65rat on Thu Oct 01, 2009 8:57 pm

Ok I'll try this. Got this frame from CL. $20. I'll make some type of springer for it and go from there. I hope to get it done in time.

Nice bike stand way to go.................ya know..........if you cut the center out of that donut you could have had the beginnings of a chopper wheel.............If I get you the wheel off a police car would you trade?

looks good but i have a possible safety related question...
the solid bar for the front........is that just (im guessing on the width) 1/2" mild? if so id temper it....i made some trusses for a springer with that and before i tempered them i bent the heck out of them(im about 170#'s)

looks really good though

Gee Sensor I was thinking you were going to tell him that it might slip out of the slotted forks. Good start though
Ok if I hang that one over there, and slide this one over here
maybe one more will fit right here!

It's 5/8" I built one for my other bike more traditional type. and haven't had any problems. There is a pic in my intro. I might temper it now that you brought it up.
Thanks

im guessing the springer on the black bike? looks good
5/8" probably wont fold but id still temper it(or at least lean on it really hard before riding to be sure).....

You've nearly won the build-off already with just your bike stand! That's cool!

Got springer done. seems pretty sturdy. And I did put new brackets on bottom of main legs so it wouldn't slide out. Thanks Uncle Stretch ( I cant believe I did that.)

Now to work on a seat post to move my seat back. I have this cool seat I got on a $5 bike this summer.
