i have had a few people tell me this frame was different things....
first hawthorne, then schwinn, then monark.....
here is the bike in its original state when i brought it home.
Ah, it had a Monark sprocket on it too. Perhaps Crassly will back me up, I still think Columbia. ~Adam

well crap. do they even sell MTB type pedals for 1/2"?

Try BMX pedals, most are 1/2" and some of them are pretty cool.

i bought some new tires yesterday.....the 3rd(and hopefully final) set for this bike build.
i was a little disappointed with not being able to find cream/tan/skin colored knobbies.
but, the tires i did get are some pretty sweet panaracers with gray walls.

i also placed an order with debbie at bikeworld.
- fork truss bars.
- 2-bulb headlight. already a mount welded to the fork....
probly be here first part of next week.

also, i looked on clunkers.net and noticed the originals used metal cage pedals, like on road bikes. i have some perfect ones i got off of a varsity.

and, my Schwinn High Sierra bars/stem are coming tonight.

i might have a good little mockup tomorrow.

I found these tires while searching for white 24" tires for my skunkworks build. They are white knobby tires with a small blackwall. They are pretty pricey are I could'nt justify buying them for my low budget klunker, but you may think differentlty.

got my donor bike.....

my coworker gave this 83? schwinn high sierra to a girl we work with who is about 5' 2"
she can barely reach the pedals.....
i am gonna fix her up with something smaller.

so i got the bike as a "trade".....already planned on using the bars from it.....now i may use the front wheel and brake too.
