Newb

Postby bloodhound on Wed May 16, 2012 12:16 pm

I have had a link to this site for a while. My daughter wants me to build her a bike. I checked out the site for a little background help. I have never built a bike or modified a frame but I do build motorcycles and other stuff out of metal. I mig and tig weld but only have a DC machine so no aluminum. I am getting a few frames cheap or free to modify. I am building a frame jig and have it half way done. I am going to build a scooter out of a free Huffy 16" for practice. Thanks for all the great how to' and info.
My only question is steel wall thinkness that would be common for a bike. Is .065 good. for say 1- 1 1/2 inch DOM tubing.
