<<RIDGE RUNNER XXX>> In finished bikes.

Postby PeterBuilt on Thu May 03, 2012 4:55 pm

I found this in a dumpster. I'd be willing to guess that nobody is, or will be using the same frame. It's a Fuji. It's one of those bikes that you had to smoke 500,000 Marlboro's to get. What better way to get healthy. Oh! I forgot, it FOLDS! Or should I say SWINGS.

This is the start

What kind of crazy person would throw such a cool bike away?

This will be an interesting one to watch come together.
I tried being serious, but it was boring.

I love the idea of smoking a bunch of cigarettes to earn enough points to get a bike that you then couldn't ride up a hill without weezing and coughing and taking another smoke break!

Make it rat, make the deadline, I'll be watching. Good luck.

I hope it comes out as "wild" as your last build off bike, Twisted Sister Flipped. 8)

Anyone that uses a folding bike has my attention.
Just throw some Harley tires on it.

I did a single speed conversion on this one about 6 years ago:

Image

far lighter crank
single speed bmx freewheel
new 1/8" chain
new brakes
folding pedals
new brake levers
new seat.

With that paint in poor condition, I'd say it's a prime candidate for a different color.

When you strip the bike down, don't be surprised when the crank arms weigh more than the frame. Possibly the heaviest crank set ever. ABS clad cast iron.

Okay you could paint it in spades, diamonds, hearts, clubs. That could be cool.
Or paint it to look like a big stack of smoldering cigarettes.

I got a fog machine (meant for desk top bonzai or rock gardens) in SF Chinatown a few years ago that is very tiny and could be concealed somewhere.
