Re: I've Got My Spine, I've Got My Orange Crush
I just got your comment...HAHA. The bars are not attached and the forks must have spun around when I put it in the shed. I was wracking my brain trying to figure out how my stuff looked Wal-Marty. "I've Got My Spine, I've Got My Orange Crush"
Re: I've Got My Spine, I've Got My Orange Crush (update-May 5)Hope to get some color on my rims this weekend...
Here is how it started a few hours ago... ![]() And after some serious elbow grease... ![]() Need to finish the rear and hopefully get color down...I will post pics with the new kicks as soon as they are done. "I've Got My Spine, I've Got My Orange Crush"
Re: I've Got My Spine, I've Got My Orange Crush (update-May 5)Use the brown bottle as your tank. Take a look at my BO6 bike BEER RUN for reference.

Re: I've Got My Spine, I've Got My Orange Crush (May 8-Trike?)So I did not get paint on the rims this weekend...I have been distracted working on a trike for my niece (her 1st birthday is in ten days).
Here are a couple of pics...it is a 1930's? Werlich. This is how it looked when I picked it up... ![]() Here it is with round one of stripping... ![]() Here it is with the blue... ![]() And where it sits right now... ![]() ![]() "I've Got My Spine, I've Got My Orange Crush"
Re: I've Got My Spine, I've Got My Orange Crush (May 8-Trike?)I did manage to do a little work on my bike as well. Thanks to dragnusa for the idea of the tail light. I came up with this...
![]() I purchased this light fute from Canadian Tire... ![]() I removed the casing... ![]() ![]() Ground the end down with my angle grinder... ![]() And let there be light... ![]() Now to think of a secure (and subtle) way to attach this to the bike. "I've Got My Spine, I've Got My Orange Crush"

Re: I've Got My Spine, I've Got My Orange Crush (May 17-Paint)So it feels like I am making a little progress...finally got some paint (Flat Leather Brown) on the frame and fork. Cleaned up the seat and chainring...got them started with paint.
![]() Then I got distracted by these two lights that were laying in the corner of the garage... ![]() Add a couple of other pieces... ![]() Hope to have it mocked up tomorrow so you can see what I have planned. "I've Got My Spine, I've Got My Orange Crush"
Re: I've Got My Spine, I've Got My Orange Crush (May 17-Paint)So I couldn't wait until morning...
I have been searching high and low for a springer...and when I do find one, the cost keeps it out of reach. So I decided to make my own mock springer. This is what I was able to do with just a pair of tin snips, a cordless drill and an angle grinder. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() "I've Got My Spine, I've Got My Orange Crush"
Re: I've Got My Orange Crush (Mock Springer-May 18)Aw Snaps!! That's freaking great! This will be stolen. GTB!! Peace

Re: I've Got My Orange Crush (Mock Springer-May 18)I missed your light post earlier. That looks awesome! Can't wait to see it mounted.
Love the truss rods and faux springer. Turned out very nicely. BO8 FireWing-Flexy-Fugsley-Beer Run * SALE ITEMS, FRESH FINDS + KINGFISH254 Stuff

Re: I've Got My Orange Crush (Mock Springer-May 18)I like that front end treatment!
2 questions: 1) Is your fork slightly bent? 2) How will you mount your wheel, you're using their holes! Check out my Build-Off bike: ☆ 1936 Off-Roadmaster Klunker ☆
Re: I've Got My Orange Crush (Mock Springer-May 18)I really like the faux springer! I'm not the only one who see's bicycle parts and pieces everywhere I go.
What will you do for tires for the tricycle? It looks great. Great job, Rg Loco-cycle viewtopic.php?f=67&t=56607
Re: I've Got My Orange Crush (Mock Springer-May 18)
Yes the forks are slightly bent...keeping my eyes open for some better ones, but these are still rideable. The truss mounts will actually attach to the axle...just used some stove bolts to mock it up for now... Your sidecar is starting to look sick man...I wish I had a welder (and the abillity to weld!)
