I have to take a 10 day hiatus from my build. Tomorrow I'm heading back to Arkansas to spend some quality time with my folks. Its gonna be hard to watch all this progress when I'm not able to make any of my own! I will, however, be on the lookout for some rusty gold while I'm out there. When I get back, I'll get started on the springer, try out some ideas I have for a front fender for my build, get the headlight mounted, figure out handle bars (I have a few options), etc, etc..

Ya Skip it's a 57' 356 that's getting restored. My good friend who owns the shop where I do my work is doing the restoration on it.

Been in Arkansas almost a week now visiting my folks. Been itching to work on something!! Oh well.. I've scoured several antique shops around here (there seems to be one every few miles!) and all I've came up with, as far as vintage bikes go, is this cool little jewel reflector. The aluminum decorative surrounding it is unique.. Not bad for a dollar..

I believe you have moved beyond the acceptable limit of cool bike stuff that is allowed to be in your procession at any one time. Sooooo, you have to get rid of some of that stuff. I could PM you my address.
I tried being serious, but it was boring.

HAHA! Ya piles of cool stuff can be fun.. Its how it all comes together at the end that matters. Its nice to have a few "doodads" to choose from.

Ok, one more little doodad.. I've done the spoon handle thing for a coaster brake strap before, so I starting looking for something different. I'll use this scale for my coaster brake strap in this build.

Man I'm feeling a little out of touch with the Build Off. Got home from vacation and haven't been able to get anywhere close to my build. Life tends to get in the way like that... I know, it's a long "build off summer". When I do get back too it, i'll stay on it for a coupe days straight and hopefully get it into full rolling/rideable mock up.

I'm going to try to incorporate this Profile stem into the build. I'll need to get a set of cruiser bars that'll accept this style of stem. I'll also need to make it work with a rat trap springer steer tube. I may have to do weld on a different steer tube to make it work.

It's a 63' Columbia Newsboy Special. That's a neat idea but I just couldn't do that! The rack is what makes this frame kinda desirable.
