Hmmmm, maybe. I could put a bunny in it.
You know, I'd probably get more done with a wrench in my hand than with a computer mouse in my hand. Okay, going to the garage.

Re: Bratz Eliminator
Just imagine what a bunny would look like if Ed Roth designed it! Then paint that on it!
Re: Bratz EliminatorDis-assembly has begun:
![]() The Bratz parts are actually of pretty decent quality. The springer fork is pretty hefty, and the sissy bar is quite a bit thicker walled tubing than the ones I have seen at bike shops. However, mine is scraped up pretty badly, so I may regulate it to wheelie bar duty--or maybe buy another one. The kid who owned it before me must have crashed a lot. I tried being serious, but it was boring.
Re: Bratz EliminatorNormally, I would take the bike apart, make all the modifications I planned, make sure it all fit together, and then take it back apart and paint it. However, I had an itchy paintin' finger and I couldn't wait. Well, I could of I guess, but I didn't.
The chain guard seemed like a harmless enough place to start, so I took it to work this morning, bead-blasted it, and squirted it with some Rustoleum yellow. Then tonight, I had to put the "Eliminator" on. I have to clear-coat it yet. ![]() I purchased the lettering from doityourselflettering.com You can make yourself some nifty lettering there. I also had them make the graphic of the little crocodile I use for an Avatar. That will be used as a head badge after the bike frame is painted. Re: Bratz EliminatorI am not going to use the fenders that are on the bike because they are skinny. So I was going to use the chrome ones shown here:
![]() The chrome isn't that good, but it is good enough that it should clean up well (looks better in the picture than in reality). But after I painted the chain guard, I thought I liked that yellow and so should have painted fenders also. So I dug out some painted fenders to use. Both of those are dented up a bit, but will be easily fixable. Also, you may note, they are both rear fenders. But the purple fender is skinnier than the blue fender, so I plan to cut it down and use it for the front. So into the bead blaster they went tonight, and out they came looking like this: ![]() Looks like they need the yellow with black stripe with red pinstripe treatment. And here is my middle-child daughter pretending to run a lathe: ![]() Last edited by Peatbog on Wed May 02, 2012 7:15 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Re: Bratz EliminatorFrame has had the paint stripped from it. I used this stuff:
![]() This stuff works great. It's a gel kind of thing that was eating off the paint as I brushed it on even before I got the entire bike coated with it. Along with the pressure washer available where I work, the paint came off fine. It still took a couple coats of paint stripper to get all the paint off, but all went very well. Then I bead blaster the frame to give the paint a good surface to stick to. As of this morning, the front end has some black on it. Seat tube has some white on it. Should have some yellow on it by this evening. Neglected to bring camera to work with me, so picture will be later tonight after I get done painting, get home, get the camera, come back to unmask the frame. The seat tube white is where I am planning to paint a checkerboard pattern. That should be fun. You know, when you aren't making frame modifications, this bike building thing is a whole lot easier! I tried being serious, but it was boring.
Re: Bratz EliminatorI need to borrow your bead blaster and your lathe. You can keep the stripper, I had some of that, used it in the wind, ended up naked.

Re: Bratz EliminatorThe Eliminator".. What a great name..

Re: Bratz EliminatorHa! I told you I stole that name from somewhere; I just couldn't remember where. That is a really cool bike. Their lettering is rather rudimentary though.
I like the mirror; it would match the checkerboard I plan to put on the seat tube. Last edited by Peatbog on Thu May 03, 2012 9:50 am, edited 2 times in total.

Re: Bratz Eliminator
That is the advantage of being the Automation &Technology Shop Manager/Engineer. I have a whole machine shop at my disposal after hours. A weld shop too. And a reasonably decent place to paint. The bad thing about it is sometimes all of our machinist and welders are out on jobs and I am here myself, so that makes me the machinist and welder too. It gets hectic at times. Oh, next time, stay upwind. I tried being serious, but it was boring.

Re: Bratz EliminatorOkay, here we have the frame. The white part on the seat tube will end up being a black and white checkerboard. I also planned to have the back of the frame black but I forgot, so now I have to do that also. The black points at the front will be divided from the yellow with red pinstripes.

Re: Bratz EliminatorLooking good, but need a bigger photo so I can be really critical. Love the paint plan though, I really dig checkers and now we can play on your bike with some of those little magnetized travel checkers.
