Old Lever shaft brake system bike

Any ideas what I have here? wheels are not original. Shaft lever system through front fender
English, British???

I'm pretty positive it is not British. That style of brake is uncharacteristic of English bikes, more of something you'd expect to find on a Dutch or German bike.

This 1939 German made Falke shares some similarities: http://oldbike.wordpress.com/1939-falke ... ad-german/

It even appears to have a similar cotterless crank.

The M on the chainguard, and the M motif on the chainwheel would seem to suggest some brand that starts with an M. Magneet maybe?
