Forkless

Postby ChopperOlli on Sat May 10, 2008 1:55 pm

Hey!

My name is Olli and I'm from Finland northen Europe. While i'm not fighting whit icebears I'm building Chopper bicycles.
I have been making quite some of them - maybe 10 all together. Maybe I show some of those old ones later.

This bikes name is Forkless because it does not have regular front end anymore. I made already one bike whit this
same front but it was baced on regular bicycle frame, so I wanted to make one like it was but whit my own frame desing.
Rear became also single sided. I took lots of thinking and machingin to get regular "foot brake" hub work as single sided.
I wanted to get old Cruiser bicycle spirit on this crazy build, so I used some cruiser clichés, like: seat, balloon tyres, bars.
In Finland its hard to find old style 559 rims, so mine are from Russian Light weight moped, broblem whit them was that
they did only have 32 holes! I needed to fill and drill new holes on hubs. Front hub is from wheel chair. For some time I have
been wanted to make totally white bike. This project was great change to make it true, just few chrome parts are giving
some contrast. All work is made by me, welding, painting, wheel spoking... Bike works really nicely and its steering really
well.

Amazing! Nice fab work. I would love to see a picture of the steering mechanism.
It can be fast, safe or cheap. Pick two.
